Thank you, thank you. Our last two issues literally flew off the distribution points. The response from readers, subjects in articles and advertisers has been nothing short of spectacular. It was so amazing that it even “almost” prompted Teller (of Penn and Teller) to speak publicly.
Our distributor laughed when we asked for returns. He said he had only enough copies of New York Lifestyles Magazine to keep for his files. The magazine, he said, literally disappeared from the distribution points. And into the hands of eager readers such as yourself and for that we thank you.
Our promise to you is that we intend to improve with each issue, bringing you more of the things you are interested in. We’ll have New York happenings, interesting trips abroad and day trips from the city. Finance and health are subjects we will be delving into and leisure and entertainment will be a major part of us. One area we will be giving special attention to is the real estate market and we are developing new writers who are experts in that field to bring you the latest news and trends.
A prime destination for our readers is the Jersey Shore and we’ll have frequent pieces of places to stay, have fun (Morey’s Piers), relax and dine-such as Giovanni’s. Where? Look inside and you’ll find out.
We’ll focus strongly on personalities you all know. Last month we featured that duo of crazy Libertarians who also happen to be arguably the best comic magicians on the boards; Penn & Teller, the duo appearing in New York until the middle of this month. Get out and see them if you have a chance. You will enjoy the evening.
We have several new writers to introduce this month. Jim Kierstead, a two-time Tony Award winner will be writing a regular Broadway insider column. He won’t be doing reviews but will bring exclusive stories to our magazine. Jim has been a producer on Rocky, the currently amazing Kinky Boots and a host of other top-notch shows.
Daniel Bollinger, a senior associate with AZAD Property Group will discuss real estate trends from his expertise. We are now in discussions with representatives of major real estate entities to bring you comprehensive news in the field.
Karen Feld, a well-known travel journalist and experienced world-traveler brings her personal touch to trips you know you want to take. She’ll tell you how to plan, what to bring-and what not to bring. She will give advice on how to choose just the right trip. This month she’s on an exotic barge trip down European rivers.
Over the coming months we’ll be bringing you a vast array of stories covering the topics above and some that you haven’t thought of but will find intriguing. As always, we are open to suggestions and comments (good or not so good-although we much prefer the good) from the readership. This is as much your magazine as it is ours. Please feel free to drop me a note at bobn@newyorklifestylesmagazine.com at any time you feel you have something to say.
We know you’ll enjoy the contents of this issue and we look forward to bringing you the next issue that’ll be jammed packed with great material.
Cordially,
Bob Nesoff
