Another excellent development by the Extell Development Corporation: The Kent, The Carlton House, One57 are all examples of Extell’s exciting developments. What makes 555Ten different than their other projects is that it is a rental building—and they’ve not lowered their standard one bit. Located in Hudson Yards—Manhattan’s new neighborhood for a new generation—it was built from the ground up and is a triumph of culture, commerce, and cuisine. A technological marvel that pairs style with sustainability, it is a convergence of parks and public space.
OVER THE TOP
Extell Development is a great contributor to this fabulous new neighborhood. 555Ten is a 650-foot-tall structure with 478 rental units from studio to three bedrooms and lofts. It is very pet-friendly like Ava DoBro in Brooklyn with their pet amenities and is geared toward younger professionals. Their units start on the 14th floor so all of the units have views.
All the apartments are beautiful as you would expect from Extell and are laid out very well. The two bedrooms are all gallery layouts. Even the studios are spacious. They have open layouts with kitchen and living rooms combining for a large living space. The open drop shelving in the kitchens is exceptional. A very nice design detail that creates a separate space for each room but also allows for the combination of these two rooms. The deep sinks in the kitchen are also an excellent design detail. GE appliances and Fisher & Paykel fridges are in all kitchens. The apartments have almost floor to ceiling windows which allow for lots of light to emanate throughout the units, and there are views galore in each space. All units come with a Bosch washer/dryer in each unit as well. There are plenty of closets, and all are built out with sturdy construction.
LIVING LARGE IN MANHATTAN
Even the studios have large walk-in closets that are built out with nice custom shelving. The bathrooms all have rain shower heads, custom vanities, great tile work and large medicine cabinets. The tubs are even custom made as they are deep soaking tubs and have rounded tops. Some of the apartments are so large they have vestibules in the entrances. All apartments come with solar shades in the living room and blackout shades in the bedrooms. If this isn’t enough, it is the amenities that are over the top.
There are a host of amenities on the rooftop and lounge floor as well as pet amenities. There is an entire floor dedicated to health and wellness which includes an attended fitness center with a private studio which hosts a variety of exercise classes, a cardio area, weight room, and indoor saltwater lap pool. There is also a rec area called 555PLAY which has a private bowling alley, arcade, and children’s playroom. The rooftop has another saltwater swimming pool, a bar, and lounge with an indoor/outdoor fireplace, and an outdoor sundeck with private cabanas and chaise lounges. The views from the rooftop are phenomenal. For the pet lovers, there is a covered outdoor dog park and full-service on-site pet care provided by Throw Me A Bone including pet grooming, play groups, and visiting vet services. For those who travel and have a pet, Throw Me A Bone can either take care of your pet in their kennel or visit your dog daily in your apartment. There’s a 24-hour doorman, concierge staff, indoor bike storage with a bike service station and a mobile app to manage building services are additional amenities.
Over the years, Extell has been impressive with their condo developments like The Kent and The Carlton House. Now they have proven that they can also build rentals and do it right in New York City. For the young professional who is looking for a rental in Manhattan 555TEN is now available. The spaces are gorgeous and well designed. Their amenities are top notch and very pet-friendly. The Hudson Yards location is going to be a happening spot once additional developments start opening their doors.
