Led by one of New York’s most prominent real estate investors, Lloyd Goldman, BLDG Management Co., Inc. introduces its first ever ground-up residential project in New York City. Located at 222 East 44th Street (between 2nd and 3rd Avenues), Summit New York sets a new standard of luxury for a rental building in Midtown East. There’s no question the building is a diamond in the sky, representing elegance and sophistication. Standing 43 stories tall and encompassing 429 residences, it’s a collaboration between Handel Architects and Escobar Design by Lemay.

“We had a strong vision and commitment to this project in differentiating it from other Manhattan rental buildings,” said Goldman, President of BLDG. “We wanted to create a rental that embodies the true luxury of a condo—from its high-end amenity package, exceptional architecture, to its upscale finishes and grand entry. Summit New York truly sets itself apart from the rest.”

THE LIVING IS EASY
Soaring above the Grand Central neighborhood, Summit is one of the few buildings in Manhattan not to be parallel to the street. Handel created a trapezoid-shaped structure with unique apartment layouts to maximize city skyline views from every angle, making all sides of the building visible and crafting a grand and sculptural presence in the skyline. The exceptional configuration of the building also creates an abundance of natural light and air access throughout.

The building features a sophisticated entryway—not typical in rental buildings—with a unique, through-block circular drive court accompanied by a sculpture titled The Summit of Manhattan, a commissioned piece, by Australian artist Todd Stuart. The sculpture reinvents the enigmatic infinity symbol, crafted from high-grade stainless steel with a mirrored finish hovering above a reflecting pool. Continuing the flow of the elevated arrival, residents will enter a grand and elegant marble lobby featuring 30-foot ceilings, a luminous chandelier of sparkling glass leaves and a dramatic waterfall.

THE RESIDENCES
The residences at Summit, ranging from studio- to three-bedroom homes, feature floor-to-ceiling windows that range from 10 feet to a soaring 15 feet—painting a surreal backdrop of the city skyline. Handpicked to every last detail, Escobar elevated the interiors with custom wide plank oak flooring, and kitchens featuring Scavolini custom Italian cabinetry finished with Quartz countertops and full height backsplash, along with a full suite of integrated Bosch appliances. Each home comes equipped with its own washer and dryer, and many feature private terraces.

Further embodying the “live above it all” experience, residences located on the 41st floor, are afforded kitchens outfitted with custom Scavolini cabinetry finished with matte glass and complemented with marble countertops and full height backsplash. Also featured are appliances by Wolf and Gaggenau including a wine chiller, recessed lighting and heated floors in the bathrooms. In addition, select Summit residences feature a wet bar and private terrace. “The Summit is the most elevated rental building in the Grand Central neighborhood, delivering an effortless and luxurious lifestyle to renters in the center of Manhattan through its finishes, amenities, services, and partnerships,” said Matthew Villetto, Senior Vice President of Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, the exclusive leasing and marketing team for the project. “It embodies the utmost commitment from BLDG, and we expect a sophisticated and international audience to be very drawn to the project.”

Lounge

AMENITIES
The building features a lavish collection of amenities, with its crown jewel being the Summit Lounge. Located on the 42nd floor, this first-class lounge is the center of socialization with a private dining room and catering kitchen, marble service bar with seating, modern living room with fireside seating and private wine lockers—all with the spectacular skyline and East River as its backdrop.

Additional amenities include the Club level which features a tech lounge, kid’s club, golf simulator, lounge with billiards and other games, and a screening room. Residents also have their own backyard in the middle of the Club level, equipped with grills, an outdoor bar, and theater with fireplace, green spaces, and a children’s play area. The Arena at Summit is a high-designed, state-of-the-art fitness center complete with a basketball court, squash court, spin bikes, cardio machines and weights, and an aquatic center that includes an 18-meter heated indoor lap pool with natural sunlight from the overhead skylights, sauna, and steam rooms. The building also features a 230-car parking garage with valet, a pet spa and storage lockers.

At the epicenter of Midtown East and the Grand Central neighborhood, Summit offers its residents unlimited access to transportation, cultural landmarks, outdoor leisure, and fine dining – the cosmopolitan neighborhood represents refined taste. Pricing at the Summit starts in the mid-$3,000s.
