All-Season Luxury

By Norah Bradford

Northern California is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. And the quintessential city that showcases all the glory of the region is no other than San Francisco. When staying in the idealistic location fully embrace the town with a divine stay at the Five-Star Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco.

The location boasts an ideal form of luxury hospitality at the very finest that life has to offer. The hotel sits in the heart of the Yerba Buena Arts District, steps from Union Square, the Moscone Convention Center, Museum of Modern Art, and the financial district. Bringing a focus on natural influences, the stunning décor takes inspiration from the organic forms of the Bay Area; at the same time, the city’s high-tech scene calls for a clean, vibrant aesthetic.

Entering the building, you’ll be captivated with custom carpets, wall coverings and drapery that recall San Francisco’s fog and mist, while furniture pieces feature hand-finished walnut slabs and ceruse oak with cool steel and brass accents.

LUXURY AROUND
EVERY CORNER

Overlook the divine city within 231 guest rooms and 46 suites that feature floor-to-ceiling windows with views of San Francisco. The 42-floor building compromises looks by interior designers Frank Nicholson and Meyer Davis, which both warmly embrace the vibrant tones of one of the most fascinating cities in America.

Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco also celebrates the wonderful vibe of America in the California setting with the return of the Three-Martini Lunch at MKT Restaurant. For visitors coming to town for exciting business meetings look no further than this delicious moment found at the venue for a perfect business meeting. The lunch is available Monday-Friday from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and features the option to add any combination of three mini-martinis made with Stoli Elit Vodka or Hendrick’s Gin, dry vermouth, no vermouth or dirty, with olives, onions, cucumber, or a twist, to the a la carte lunch menu. By request only, guests with the MKT Insider Secret can also opt for the Vesper, James Bond’s original martini—shaken not stirred, with vodka, gin and Lillet Blanc.

A RETURN OF THE BUSINESS LUNCH
Inspired by the return to the office, the three-martini lunch also celebrates the classic cocktail’s history. Many believe the timeless elixir to have originated in Martinez, California, just outside of San Francisco, during the Gold Rush in 1849. After striking it rich, a miner stopped in Martinez on his way back to the Golden Gate City to celebrate with a glass of champagne, which the bar was out of. Instead, the bartender offered to prepare a “Martinez Special,” one-part dry Sauterne wine, three-parts gin, stirred with ice and finished with an olive, and so the martini was born.

“Our location in the heart of downtown San Francisco has always made MKT a hotspot for business lunches,” says Jesse Caetano, Assistant Director of Food and Beverage, Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco. “The Three-Martini lunch puts a tempered twist on a favored pastime to welcome businesses back to the office.”

Located on the fifth floor, it is helmed by veteran Chef Kevin Tanaka, MKT offers a California-centric, market-to-table menu of sustainable seafood, local meats, and seasonal produce.
