GEN V
Prime Video
Fans of The Boys will want to tune into this series spinoff, as the original superheroes in the saga are trained and learn about the mysterious Compound V. They are Gen V and include actors like Patrick Schwarzenegger (yes, Arnold is his dad) and Sean Patrick Thomas, as well as The Boys veterans Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie and P. J. Byrne. This action, comedy, and drama is what made The Boys a repeat Emmy nominee.
KRAPOPOLIS
Fox
Dan Harmon, the Emmy winner who created Rick and Morty and Community, is back with this adult animated comedy series about a mythical ancient Greek city ruled by a family that includes humans, gods, and monsters. The best part for us is that it also includes Ted Lasso’s wonder woman Hannah Waddingham as the leading voice and many other talented actors. Anything Hannah likes, we like.
SELF RELIANCE
Hulu
Actor Jake Johnson (The New Girl and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) takes a giant leap with this comic tale of a man who gets swept up into a life-or-death reality show. He not only stars in this comedy film, but he also wrote and directed it. So, to say he’s putting himself out there is an understatement. He’s an intelligent guy with talents like Andy Samberg, Wayne Brady, Anna Kendrick, and Christopher Lloyd, along for the ride.
THE CHANGELING
Apple TV+
LaKeith Stanfield parlayed his acting Oscar nomination for Judas and the Black Messiah into taking on both a starring and executive producer role in this new fantasy-horror series set in New York City—or is it? It’s an adaptation of the award-winning novel by Victor LaValle about a man searching for his wife and child after they disappear; when he finds a whole new world, he discovers that nothing he knows is as it seems.
