EXCITING FANTASY ACTION

CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD
Not yet rated
There’s a new Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and he’s starring in this, the 35th Marvel movie. Steve Rogers is no more, now Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) takes up the shield and finds himself in the midst of an explosive international incident that (surprise!) threatens the world’s stability. With Harrison Ford as the U.S. President and Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, and Giancarlo Esposito along for the action-packed flick, this one brings a very different look and feel to the Captain America superhero mythos.

THE LEGEND OF OCHI
PG
This fanciful adventure story is designed for all ages, centering around Yuri, a young girl who rescues a lost baby of a strange species. This “ochi” baby (who looks a bit like Yoda) opens a whole new and very exciting world to farm girl Yuri (played by Helena Zengel) as the “legend” develops. With able support from talented puppeteers as well as Willem Dafoe, Emily Watson, and Finn Wolfhard, this film hopes to capture the imaginations of a new generation of fantasy lovers.

TIME TO LAUGH

BRIDGET JONES: MAD ABOUT THE BOY
Not yet rated
Renee Zellweger returns to her beloved role of Bridget Jones in this fourth installment of the slightly zany British bon vivant’s always-rocky romantic life. It’s been about 25 years since we first met her, and almost 10 since she last hit the silver screen, so a lot has changed. She’s a widow with two children, tiptoeing into dating again with a much-younger man (Leo Woodall); and Bridget being Bridget, all kinds of funny complications soon arise. Plus, Hugh Grant is back.

THE DAY THE EARTH BLEW UP:
A LOONEY TUNES MOVIE

PG
The Looney Tunes gang is coming to the big screen, led by Daffy Duck and Porky Pig, in a wacky tale of aliens on earth with an evil plan to control the minds of humans (and of ducks and pigs, too). Done in traditional 2-D animation, this comical cavalcade of old favorites has lots of new gags and features the voices of Peter MacNicol, Laraine Newman, Wayne Knight, with Eric Bauza as Daffy and Candi Milo as Porky, all designed to make kids and adults crack up.

OLD GUY
R
He’s an old guy, but not quite so old he can’t keep being a hit man! That’s the premise of this Christoph Waltz comic action flick, which proves that a two-time Oscar-winning man who’s 68 years old can keep right on working in Hollywood. He’s supposed to be headed into retirement but gets pulled back in to take on a new (and much younger) assassin. When things don’t go quite right, laughing at murder is in order in this movie that costars Cooper Hoffman and Lucy Liu.
